About the Job
We are seeking a proficient and dedicated professional to assume the role of Application Consultant. This position will be primarily responsible for implementing and supporting systems / solutions within the University’s corporate services such as (but not limited to) Smart Campus/Office solutions, Contract Lifecycle Management etc.
What you will be doing
Key Responsibilities:
Service / Vendor Management / User Engagement
- Identify, compare, assess, and recommend IT solutions to business departments, to optimize IT usage and achieve business objectives.
- Oversee vendor relationships to maximize output, manage deliverables, and leverage their expertise for system and workflow enhancements.
Application Support & Maintenance:
- Maintain, upgrade, and support existing corporate application systems.
- Gather and document business requirements, collaborating with vendors and cross departments to enhance systems.
Project Planning & Management:
- Collaborate with business departments to identify needs and implement new systems.
- Lead and manage the procurement process for approved projects.
- Lead the project lifecycle whilst ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, university policies, and industry best practices.
Others:
- Manage quality of deliverables and performance of vendors.
- Assist Supervisor in other assigned duties.
- Proactively identify and assess current processes to recommend and implement improvements.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 8 years of experience in the IT industry, including over 6 years of hands-on experience in application systems support and more than 2 years in project management.
- Experience with procurement process, facility management systems, or integrated workplace management systems, including applications and peripherals. Familiarity with smart campus technology is a plus.
- Proven track record of managing projects
- Strong knowledge of IT technologies, methodologies, architectures, and best practices.
- Excellent business process and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly assimilate information and clearly communicate complex requirements and issues. The ability to understand the business questions users aim to address is essential.
- Outstanding oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management, users, and vendors.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- A proactive team player who is a fast learner, highly organized, and maintains a positive attitude.
- Certification in PMP or CITPM will be an added advantage.
- Experience in the Higher Education industry is a bonus.
- Appreciation of cybersecurity and campus security best practices.
