About the Job
Plan, procure, implement, manage and/or support Application Systems under one or more Business Domains (e.g. Resource & Scheduling, Exam Administration, Student Records), with the objective of fulfilling business needs and improving operational efficiencies of Business Departments using the Application Systems and/or solutions implemented.
What You Will Be Doing
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Management
- Conduct discovery to understand user needs, pain points, and opportunities, translating insights into a compelling product strategy.
- Lead market research and feasibility study
- Plan the project
- Procure the solution
- Project manage the implementation
- Facilitate transition to post-live support in order to ensure successful IT systems adoption at Business Departments to meet business objectives.
Product Management
- Own and prioritize the product backlog based on business value, user needs, and strategic objectives
- Collaborate closely with internal technical teams and external vendors to define user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical requirements
- Perform product change assessment with support from vendor and stakeholders
- Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle
- Make data-driven decisions by analysing product performance metrices, user feedback, and market trends to continuously iterate and improve the product
- Manage vendor relationships, performance and quality of deliverables in order to ensure timely delivery of enhancements required to support business operational needs.
Business Operation & Support
- Provide on-going maintenance, upgrade and support of the business application systems
- Manage service delivery of vendors
- Support operation of the Business Departments (e.g. course registration, budget planning) in order to facilitate smooth and efficient running of the university processes and activities.
General Responsibility
- Assist Supervisor in all other assigned duties.
- Assist in the general administrative function of the department.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
- At least 8 years in IT industry.
- Experience in Project Management.
- Certification in PMP or CITPM will be an added advantage.
- Strong business process, analytical, systems and design thinking skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact and communicate effectively with end-users and vendors.
- Experience in vendor management or a similar role.
- Experience in Higher Education industry is a bonus.
- Experience in Application Systems support and maintenance.
- Good grasp of IT technologies, methodologies, architectures, and best practices.
- Knowledge and experience of SDLC, RDBMS and SQL.
- Appreciation of cybersecurity best practices.
