About The Job

The Assistant Manager/Manager is responsible for strengthening the growth pathways of startups within SUSS Entrepreneurship’s venture-building ecosystem. This role focuses on enabling market access, managing grant and funding mechanisms and co-leading incubation efforts to ensure startups progress from incubation to market entry and scale.

The role sits at the intersection of venture acceleration, industry engagement and public funding, helping founders navigate growth, partnerships and resource mobilisation.

What You Will Be Doing

Market Access Initiatives
•    Design and implement market access initiatives that connect startups to customers, corporates and deployment partners locally and regionally
•    Develop cross-border opportunities and partnerships with corporates, industry players and overseas markets to support venture growth, particularly within ASEAN and other identified key markets 
•    Manage relationships with funding agencies, corporates, mentors, investors, and internal stakeholders

    
Programme Administration and Grant Management
•    Support the delivery of Venture Builder Programmes in collaboration with the programme team, including but not limited to startup onboarding, milestone tracking, evaluation, and progression 
•    Lead the management of the end-to-end grant administration processes for startups, including compliance, reporting and coordination with funding bodies 
•    Advise and support startups in grant strategy and execution, applications and post-grant award management, ensuring alignment between grant requirements, programme outcomes and university governance 


Strategy, Planning and Reporting
•    Contribute to ecosystem strategy and partnership development, and support departmental planning, funding proposals and institutional reporting 
•    Track and report outcomes related to venture creation, participation and ecosystem engagement to internal stakeholders and external funders
•    Identify, cultivate and secure funding partners to support entrepreneurship programmes
•    Perform any additional duties as assigned

Job Requirements

•    Degree holder; experience in startup/social enterprise ecosystem is an advantage 
•    5–10 years of experience in venture building, startup acceleration, grants management or industry partnerships 
•    Strong understanding of startup growth, funding mechanisms, and market entry strategies 
•    Experience working with public funding, grants or institutional programmes 
•    Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and programme execution capabilities
