About the Job
The Assistant manager, Strategic Communications supports the Strategic Communications workstream in delivering integrated, narrative-led content planning and execution in support of institutional priorities and Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) campaigns.
The role works closely with the Strategic Communications Manager and partner teams to translate strategic direction into high-quality, timely deliverables.
What You Will Be Doing
Key Responsibilities:
Content Planning & Campaign Support
- Support content planning for IMC campaigns and institutional initiatives, aligning deliverables with agreed narrative and messaging frameworks.
- Translate strategic direction into practical content plans, briefs, and timelines.
- Support early-stage ideation and planning discussions with partner teams to ensure content considerations are incorporated upstream.
Content Development & Coordination
- Develop and adapt content for digital and institutional platforms (e.g. Annual Report, campaign narratives, web features, signature stories), ensuring editorial quality and alignment with institutional voice.
- Coordinate inputs across Communications & Marketing teams, Schools, and stakeholders to support timely and coherent delivery.
Operational & Production Support
- Support lightweight in-house production where appropriate, including short-form digital assets aligned to narrative priorities.
- Coordinate freelancers, agencies, and temporary staff; manage briefs, timelines, and quality control.
- Ensure commissioned outputs meet editorial standards and agreed objectives.
- Provide hands-on support during peak campaign periods to ensure delivery continuity and execution quality.
Performance Tracking & Governance Support
- Track content performance and engagement trends in collaboration with Digital Marketing & Experience.
- Support post-campaign reviews, story bank maintenance, and application of editorial standards and planning tools.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Media, Journalism, or a related discipline.
- At least 3–5 years of experience in communications, content development, or integrated marketing environments.
- Strong writing, editing, and content coordination skills across platforms.
- Good understanding of digital content formats and basic performance indicators.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams, collaborate across teams, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable supporting both strategic planning and hands-on delivery.
