About The Job
The Institute for Adult Learning (IAL), an autonomous institute of the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), is at the forefront of building capabilities and offering continuing professional development for an effective, innovative and responsive Training and Adult Education (TAE) sector.
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Workplace Innovation, the position serves as the team's innovation and productisation specialist, with two primary areas of responsibility. First, the appointee will drive CWLI's workplace learning solutioning capability — developing pedagogy-informed learning interventions that have direct impact on business and worker performance, packaging them into scalable and market-ready solutions, and building the enablement infrastructure to support consultants in positioning and delivering these solutions to enterprises. Second, the appointee will provide specialist advisory to CWLI's funded innovation projects, advising project teams on how to strengthen the learning design foundations and strengthen the potential for adoption and market-readiness of their innovations. The appointee is expected to work effectively across teams and collaborate to synergise the different programmes to better achieve intended outcomes.
What You Will Be Doing
Workplace Learning Solutioning and Productisation
- Develop and package workplace learning interventions into scalable, market-ready solution offerings — from learning needs sensing and solution design through piloting, refinement, and go-to-market — ensuring each stage is informed by adult learning principles, performance-centred design, and evidence of learning and intervention effectiveness.
- Develop enablement resources — such as solution briefs, facilitation guides, case studies, and toolkits — and train and coach consultants on the pedagogical underpinnings and practical application of each solution, so they can confidently position and contextualise offerings to meet enterprise workforce development needs.
- Monitor solution adoption and gather enterprise feedback to inform product iteration, identify emerging learning needs, and guide the development of new offerings.
- Contribute to building CWLI's solutioning knowledge base, including learning needs analysis frameworks, intervention design approaches, and workplace learning methodologies.
Learning Design and Innovation Advisory
- Advise funded project teams on strengthening the pedagogical foundations and market-readiness of their innovations — including alignment with adult learning principles, performance-centred design, learning transfer, scalability, and packaging for enterprise adoption.
- Review learning design at key project milestones and provide structured, pedagogy-informed feedback to improve both the quality of the learning intervention and its viability for wider adoption.
- Additional duties may be assigned, and functions may be modified, according to business needs and industry developments.
Job Requirements
- A Master's or Bachelor's Degree in education, learning sciences, instructional design, education technology, adult education, business management, or a related field. A combination of educational and business qualifications is a strong advantage.
- Minimally 5–8 years of working experience in learning design, instructional design, curriculum development, or adult education, with demonstrated expertise in applying adult learning theory and pedagogical principles to the design and evaluation of learning interventions. Candidates with a background in business development, product management, or strategic planning within the education or L&D sector are also welcome.
- Experience in productising learning solutions — turning learning approaches into scalable products or services, including developing delivery models, solution packaging, and consultant enablement for enterprise adoption — is highly valued.
- Possess business acumen and an understanding of how enterprises approach workforce development investments — including the ability to assess market needs, develop value propositions, and position learning solutions for adoption within organisational contexts.
- Possess prior experience in the Training and Adult Education (TAE) sector or in Learning and Development (L&D) roles within enterprises is highly preferred.
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with stakeholders, possessing strong communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) to engage and influence stakeholders of all levels of seniority, including senior management and enterprise clients.
- Demonstrate strong systems thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop a deeper appreciation of current and emerging issues in workforce development and continuing education, and to exercise good judgement to provide sound recommendations.
- Possess an ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Demonstrate an ability in meeting deadlines and delivering on KPIs.
The successful appointee will be based at IAL Campus, located at Lifelong Learning Institute next to Paya Lebar MRT station.
