Job Description

In this position, the appointee will be working as part of the Business Development & Consultancy unit, supporting the Centre for Workplace Learning and Performance at IAL. The appointee will be responsible for formulating project scopes and undertake research translation efforts to build toolkits for learning and performance consulting use.

 

Research Translation & Experimentation (50%)

  • Work closely with L&OD practitioners, consultants, researchers, adult educators, instructional designers, internal business units, and external enterprise stakeholders as part of applied and field research to identify and translate authentic practices into usable resources for consulting use (e.g. case studies, on-line tools, diagnostics, written literature, evidence summaries, process templates, frameworks, guiding principles, etc).
  • Independently research relevant literature and analyses practices in authentic settings, to co-create toolkits for learning & performance consulting use.
  • Conduct of validation exercises on the toolkits developed, including pilot use.
  • Prepare and coordinate written, graphic, visual materials, web site content and other media for presentation/dissemination.
  • Identify appropriate service providers (e.g. copy writers, editors, publishers) to support the production of the output documents and is responsible to plan and oversee this process.

 

Enterprise Engagement & Projects Scoping (50%) 

  • Liaise and collaborate with various enterprise stakeholders at all levels, to understand critical requirements and objectives.
  • In consultation with enterprise stakeholders, chart out possible project scopes relating to learning and performance, covering objectives, outcomes, and corresponding measures to drive business results, workplace performance improvement and/or behaviour change.
  • Support involvement to client meetings and initiatives, as required.
  • Work closely with the project management & administration team in the handling of enterprise-related matters, as required.

Job Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in applied research and consulting, preferably in the learning and organisational development field.
  • Tertiary qualification in the area of business, human resource, learning & development, and/or organisational development.
  • Relevant Training and Adult Education (TAE) qualifications would be advantageous (e.g. ACTA, ACLP, DACE and/or DDDLP).
  • Good business acumen and results orientation.
  • Highly conversant in business, learning, and organisational development practice and terminologies.
  • Excellent listening, networking, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build cross-functional relationships across various levels.
  • Highly resourceful with excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills; meticulous and detail-oriented.
  • Effective as both an individual contributor and overall team player.
  • The successful appointee will be based in IAL Campus located at Lifelong Learning Institute next to Paya Lebar MRT station.
