Assistant Manager/Manager (Workplace Learning Designer)

About the Job

In this position, the appointee will be working as part of the Workplace Learning & Solutioning unit of the Centre for Workplace & Learning Innovation. The appointee will be responsible for designing workplace learning courses/workshops, scoping of workplace related projects, and undertaking research translation to develop toolkits that support the conceptualisation and implementation of workplace and work-based learning and performance interventions.

What You Will Be Doing

Workplace Learning Intervention Design and Toolkit Development (80%)

  • Collaborate with learning and organizational development (L&OD) practitioners, consultants, researchers, adult educators, internal stakeholders, and enterprise stakeholders to co-create actionable and authentic workplace learning programmes and toolkits.
  • Design and facilitate workplace learning courses and workshops, ensuring alignment with IAL’s pedagogical and adult learning principles and enterprise business outcomes.
  • Conduct applied research to identify and translate industry practices into resources such as case studies, diagnostic tools, process templates, and frameworks.
  • Validate and pilot toolkits for real-world application and ensure they meet enterprise needs.
  • Produce high-quality materials, including learning contents, graphic/visual aids, resources, and write-ups for dissemination.
  • Manage the end-to-end process for toolkit production, including the engagement of service providers (e.g., copywriters, editors, publishers) and overseeing the development timeline.
     

Enterprise Engagement & Projects Scoping (20%)

  • Contribute to engaging enterprises and stakeholders in identifying workplace challenges and opportunities, co-developing project scopes and solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Develop evaluation framework and metrics to measure extent intended objectives are met, desired outcomes achieved, and learning outcome metrics and/or behavioral change.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Preferably a Masters degree in Business, Adult Learning, Human Resources, Learning & Organisational Development, and/or related field.
  • Relevant competency-based Training and Adult Education (TAE) certifications such as ACTA, ACLP, DACE, or DDDLP.
     

Experience

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in designing learning programmes and facilitating training, with a focus on workplace learning as construct to bridge organisational needs with people development.
  • Experience in the learning and organisational development field, as well as applied research and consulting, would be advantageous

  • Strong business acumen with a results-driven approach.
  • In-depth understanding of business, learning, and organisational development practices and terminologies.
  • Highly resourceful, with excellent analytical skills and a creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Exceptional communication and writing abilities, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Skilled in working independently as a self-starter and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficient in designing and delivering innovative, impactful learning solutions tailored to enterprise needs.

  • The successful appointee will be based in IAL Campus located at Lifelong Learning Institute next to Paya Lebar MRT station
