Camp Facilitator

The Camp Facilitator is responsible for the direct supervision, safety, and engagement of a group of P1 & P2 children (aka Campers), delivering high-quality, fun, and developmentally-appropriate camp activities. This role involves acting as a positive role model, mentor, and leader, dedicated to ensuring every child has a rewarding and memorable camp experience at SUSS.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Camper Safety and Supervision:
    • Ensure the physical and emotional safety of all assigned campers at all times, adhering strictly to all camp policies and emergency procedures.
    • Supervise campers during all daily activities, transitions, meals, and rest periods.
    • Collaborate closely with social service agency staff to promptly report all incidents, accidents, and concerns to the Camp Director.
  • Programme Planning and Delivery:
    • Plan, prepare, and enthusiastically lead a variety of engaging and inclusive activities (e.g., arts and crafts, sports, outdoor games, drama, science experiments) as assigned by the Camp Director.
    • Adapt activities to meet the individual needs and abilities of the campers in the group.
    • Encourage full participation, teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive group dynamics.
  • Camper Care and Mentorship:
    • Serve as mentor and positive role model, demonstrating high levels of energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
    • Collaborate with social service staff to provide patient and individualised response to individual camper needs, conflicts, or concerns.
    • Help campers with daily routines, organization, and maintaining cleanliness of programme areas.
  • Communication and Teamwork:
    • Maintain open and professional communication with fellow staff, supervisors, and parents (as directed by the Camp Director).
    • Actively participate in pre-camp training and all required staff meetings.
    • Contribute positively to the overall staff team and camp culture.
  • Other Duties:
    • Assist with the setup, cleanup, and maintenance of program equipment and areas.
    • Complete daily records, attendance logs, and necessary documentation promptly and accurately.
