Job Summary

The Executive, Career Development (CD), supports the planning, implementation, monitoring and review processes of strategic initiatives and programmes that contribute to student employability and success. The role involves coordinating career-related programmes and events, supporting stakeholder engagement, ensuring effective communication and marketing, and involvement in data monitoring and reporting. This role also acts as a key liaison across departments and partners to advance CD’s mission of empowering students for professional success.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Administration & Operations for Professional Readiness Experience Programme – Work Study Degree (New/Revised) and Lifelong Employment Initiatives

  • Coordinate course programming and administration matters such as class scheduling, student communications, and liaison with academic/administrative departments.
  • Co-design and co-lead students overseas programmes to complement instructional needs of programme.
  • Provide administrative, secretariat and event management support for credit-bearing and non-credit-bearing Career Development courses and programmes (WSDeg courses, career fair, conferences, mentoring workshops, professional networking sessions) for resource optimisation.
  • Maintain programme documentation during planning, implementation, and post-programme review phases. Maintain and support review workflows to ensure capturing of relevant data and timely submissions of students’ internship records on internal portal for graduation requirements.
  • Involved in process improvement of day-to-day running of CD initiatives in collaboration with the wider team.

 

Data Management & Reporting

  • Support the collection, organisation, and analysis of data to generate insights for Career Development programmes and initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records related to student engagement, employer partnerships, and graduate employment outcomes.
  • Assist in preparing internal reports and submissions for audits, stakeholder updates, and university reporting requirements.
  • Support process improvement towards data driven decision making in internal review processes.

Partnership Engagement

  • Coordinate and oversee the implementation of outreach and communication efforts for Career Development programmes and initiatives to align with university guidelines.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders and partners (e.g., COMMS, design vendors, student teams) to ensure messaging aligns with CD’s objectives and SUSS branding guidelines.
  • Monitor outreach efforts to ensure effective audience engagement and support continuous improvement.

 

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate with colleagues within the centre and across the university (e.g., Student Success Centre, Student Records, schools) to ensure smooth execution of initiatives.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects or committees when required.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
  • Experience in administration within an institution of higher learning or operations in a university/educational setting would be an advantage.
  • Proven experience in operational roles, with excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in IT skills (such as Excel, Word).
  • Experience in Canva and/or other basic design tools is preferred.
  • Familiarity with data tools, analytics platforms, or AI tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel automation) will be advantageous.
