About The Role
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day activities arising from the research projects and programmes within the University.
The scope of work would involve serving in the secretariat for grant reviews and management; hiring of research manpower and procurement; tracking and reporting of progress and ensuring compliance of the conduct of these research projects and programmes.
What You Will Be Doing
- Manage the grant call activities and research applications.
- Assist in the preparation of documents required for the grant reviews.
- Assist in preparing budgetary estimates for the department and individual research projects.
- Facilitate the review process and maintain records related to the reviews.
- Arrange meetings and take minutes.
- Provide support for implementing research projects and programs, including hiring research manpower and procuring equipment, materials, and vouchers for subjects.
- Track research expenditures to ensure expenses align with budget allocations. Monitor grant utilization rates and provide regular updates.
- Assist with audit activities related to research grants and facilitate compliance with corporate governance.
- Track research KPIs and assist with reporting preparation for management and funding agencies.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting to both internal and external stakeholders/funders.
- Develop and maintain departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain the departmental webpage and repositories.
- Handle general administration and maintain the department’s records.
- Support departmental initiatives to promote research culture at SUSS.
- Organize in-house seminars, events, courses, and workshops.
- Serve as a liaison with other public institutions and industry/business partners.
- Handle ad hoc tasks and projects as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in any specialized field.
- 2-3 years of experience in research administration. Applicants with more than 3 years of relevant experience may be considered for Senior positions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on good English writing ability.
- Self-starter with problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle multiple tasks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and spreadsheet computations.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, and good judgment.
- Ability to perform information research and data collection.
- Team player with a strong work ethic.
