About This Job

Purpose

To work with the Student Recruitment (SRC) Manager and team to support the University’s student recruitment strategies and operational plans for marketing, outreach and promotional events by organising and executing appropriate student recruitment and outreach activities, and providing programme counselling advice to prospective applicants.

 

Description

1) To assist the Student Recruitment (SRC) Manager to develop and maintain an effective and efficient system for the planning of all administrative operations within the department.

2) To assist the Student Recruitment (SRC) Manager to structure and maintain the department so as to facilitate effective and efficient performance by team members through optimum delegation and clearly established individual responsibilities and objectives.

3) To assist and work with the Student Recruitment (SRC) Manager in the areas of Student Recruitment and Outreach, Programme Counselling, Website Management, and other assigned tasks and duties.

What You Will Be Doing

Job Responsibilities

Student Recruitment and Outreach

  • To assist the SRC Manager in the marketing and promotion of the University’s programmes, both locally and overseas.
  • To organise, facilitate and participate in local and overseas outreach activities/events such as open houses, education fairs, information sessions, seminars, talks, school/university/company visits, etc., for the purpose of recruiting local and international students, and ensure they are carried out as planned.
  • To organise and support outreach activities/events, for e.g., dialogue sessions, for the Schools.
  • To liaise with external stakeholders, for e.g., Polytechnics, ITE and industry partners, to organise outreach activities to promote the University’s programmes locally.
  • To liaise with the University’s overseas representatives and/or overseas contacts to organise student recruitment and outreach activities/events to promote the University’s programmes overseas.
  • To assist in making presentations to prospects at outreach events such as open houses, education fairs, information sessions, etc., conducted in schools, polytechnics, universities, external organisations, and so on.
  • To maintain proper documentation and filing systems, conduct effective leads management and follow-up, and produce regular statistical reports for student recruitment and outreach activities/events.
  • To assist the SRC Manager in reviewing and updating all marketing collaterals.

Programme Counselling

  • To support the University’s promotional efforts and activities by providing appropriate counselling and guidance to the general public who are interested in the University’s programmes.
  • To answer all programme enquiries via phone, email and walk-ins, etc., and to manage and monitor those received by team members when required.
  • To assist applicants to submit applications.
  • To maintain and track leads database (capturing leads via phone, email, walk-ins, etc., and from other outreach activities).
  • To ensure prompt follow-up on all enquiries and feedback from prospective and signed-up applicants.

 

Website Management

  • To assist the SRC Manager with copywriting/copyediting and update information on the SUSS website.
  • To liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g., Schools, admin departments) to ensure that information on the website is updated and current.

 

General Responsibility

  • To participate in University-wide activities and/or duty roster, e.g., open house, exam invigilation, convocation, etc.
  • To assist with other tasks and duties as necessary and/or assigned, e.g., ad-hoc projects, coordinate meetings, minutes taking, division teambuilding, etc.
  • To perform any other tasks and duties as assigned by the reporting officer(s).

Job Requirements

Academic Education

- Degree Holder or GCE ‘A’ Level or Polytechnic Diploma with at least 2 years of working experience, preferably in customer service/administration.

 

Training/Experience:     

- Proficient in Microsoft Office.

- A good team player with good interpersonal, communication, presentation and writing skills.

- Pleasant disposition with good customer service skills.

- Self-motivated, positive attitude, able to work independently and take initiative.

- Resourceful and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

- Enjoys meeting people and organising activities.

- Have an eye for details.

- Mature, meticulous and possess a high level of discretion and integrity.

- Bilingual with good command of written and spoken English.

- Some supervisory work experience would be favourable.
