About The Role
At the Student Success Centre (SSC), we're committed to empowering students to develop their personal and professional potential to achieve success in life. Within our dynamic office, we serve as the backbone behind three essential pillars: Career Development (CD), Entrepreneurship (EN), and Student Life (STL). As an Executive for the SSC, you will play a critical role in ensuring operational excellence across the centre. You will manage financial workflows, support process improvement initiatives, and ensure the smooth execution of SSC’s programmes and activities.
What You Will Be Doing
Financial Operations (50%):
- Oversee processing of daily accounts payable and receivables transactions, and support procurement, reimbursements, and purchasing activities to ensure compliance based on organizational standards.
- Facilitate processes related to student sponsorships, funding, and travel insurance.
- Assist with budget preparation, financial audits and year-end closing activities.
- Perform quality tracking to monitor the accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions, analyse data to identify areas for improvement and reporting of financial updates for budgeting and projection needs.
- Maintain accurate and up to date records and documentation in the systems and shared drives.
- Serve as SSC’s primary contact for finance-related inquiries and issues with internal stakeholders.
Strategic Optimization (30%):
- Engage in projects focused on process improvement, system enhancements and digitalization initiatives.
- Participate in pilot testing of new system functionalities, support data migration, and ensure smooth roll-out of new processes.
- Document, streamline and refine workflows to continuously improve operational efficiency.
- Conduct periodic reviews of performance data and operational processes to assess effectiveness and identify opportunities for enhancement.
Centre Management (20%):
- Contribute to engagement and outreach initiatives and perform coordination tasks to support SSC operations, programmes and activities.
- Support staff onboarding and wellbeing initiatives to foster a positive work environment.
- Assist in database management for partners, suppliers, and vendors, and support the engagement, maintenance, and evaluation of these relationships.
- Collaborate with the offices within SSC to support different functions and events as needed.
Job Requirements
- Possess a degree in any discipline and 2 to 3 years of relevant working experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Professional applications.
- Knowledge with financial management systems, principles and practices is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
- Proactive, with a passion for learning and problem solving.
- Capable to work independently with strong organizational, multitasking and follow-through abilities.
- Adaptable, resourceful and collaborative team player with good interpersonal skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
