About The Job

The Strategic Planning & Scanning department plays a pivotal role in advancing the university’s vision by supporting robust strategy development and execution, as well as driving comprehensive enterprise risk management initiatives. The position will work in a team to support integrated planning and enterprise risk management processes.

What You Will Be Doing

Key Responsibilities: 

Strategic / Corporate Planning

  • Partner EXCO sponsors, co-sponsors and directors of strategic workgroups to formulate strategic plan. This includes performing research/benchmarking on a needs basis to inform the formulations of plans, as well as making recommendations to strengthen the plan and ensure completeness.
  • Facilitate the implementation of plans by providing secretariat support for strategic workgroup meetings, as well as preparing and curating agenda items for discussion with management to drive implementation.
  • Conduct market, industry, and internal analyses to identify opportunities, risks, and areas for improvement relevant to the portfolio of functions assigned.
  • Coordinator of workplan seminars to communicate university’s strategic plans, which entails development of programme with management and preparation of programme material.
  • Perform secretariat duties for senior management meetings 

Enterprise Risk Management

  • Risk identification and assessment, which includes horizon scanning, conducting risk perception surveys and facilitating risk discussions amongst Directors.
  • Formulate formal risk response narrative which entails guiding risk owners in the development of appropriate KRIs and risk control action plan to address key risk causes
  • Support the tracking of implementation progress of new risk controls by working with risk/control owners to flesh out implementation milestones and expected completion dates
  • Support the monitoring and reporting of risk updates to management, including KRI results, implementation progress of risk control action plan etc. 
  • Support the development of the organisation's risk training programme.

Job Requirements

  • Degree Holder with 5-7 years' relevant working experience
  • Mature, meticulous and possess high level of discretion and integrity
  • Resourceful team player who is able to work independently and display initiative
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Able to do data analysis and information research
  • Ability to communicate well so as to act as liaison and help reach out to stakeholders, such as faculty and admin staff from other departments and divisions as well as associates and other stakeholders
