About the job

As the Network Engineer at SUSS, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our internal and external network infrastructure. You will be responsible for making sure network connectivity is smooth and reliable for all users, optimising performance, and troubleshooting any issues that may arise

What you will be doing

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Design and implement new network solutions, including LANs, WANs, and wireless networks.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network equipment, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Update and patch network devices and systems to stay ahead of evolving security threats.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
  • Analyse network traffic patterns and identify opportunities for optimisation.
  • Implement network security protocols and procedures.
  • Automate network tasks to improve efficiency.
  • Document network configurations and procedures.
  • Provide technical support to faculty, staff, and students.
  • Assist with disaster recovery planning and testing.
  • Stay up to date on the latest network technologies and industry best practices.

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network administration.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, technologies, and equipment.
  • Experience with configuring and managing Cisco equipment will be an added advantage.
  • Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Experience with virtualised environments and cloud networks.
  • Certifications in network administration (e.g., CCNA, Network+, CCNP).
  • Knowledge of network security principles and best practices.
