Short Description
The successful candidate will lead the counselling services for students of the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), oversee the operations of the counselling centre, as well as provide oversight of collaborative programmes across SUSS and outreach into the community.
Job Description
- Provide high quality clinical services, covering both individual and group interventions
- Supervise a team of senior counsellors in clinical work and training
- Oversee policies and protocols on crisis management arising from students' mental health and clinical concerns
- Design and run therapeutic groups to cater to diverse needs of the student body
- Conduct training programmes and workshops related to mental health prevention, interventions, and psychoeducation for both staff and students
- Drive strategic planning for all clinical programmes ensuring they operate at highest quality and visibility
- Provide leadership for evaluative research initiatives to inform clinical practice and mental health strategies
- Oversee centre operations and administrative duties of the centre, and ensure high standard of service and visibility
- Spearhead collaborative activities and programmes with staff and Faculty to build synergistic relationships across university departments and Schools
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree in psychology/counselling, with at least 8-10 years’ relevant working experience.
- Proven leadership track record in running counselling/outreach departments, with established clinical expertise and experience in supervision of counsellors
- Possess strategic mindset. Work experience in corporate strategic planning, and stakeholder management and/or programme development, will be an advantage.
- Ability to work on broad strategic projects and day-to-day process-oriented tasks.
- Strong ability to lead, nurture and grow staff capabilities/potential
- Mature, meticulous and possess high level of discretion and integrity.
- Effective interpersonal skills, strong presentation skills
- Proficient in spoken English and possess strong writing skills as the candidate is required to do presentation and write case notes.
- Resourceful team player who can work in teams and display initiative.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications and use of technology for communications
- Willing to work in the evenings.
