About The Job
The Manager, Employee Experience & Culture is responsible for shaping, sustaining and elevating a positive, values-driven workplace culture. It is a pivotal position that looks into strengthening employee engagement, fostering an inclusive environment, overseeing internal communications and employer branding initiatives. The role also includes supervisory responsibilities for a small team supporting day-to-day operations.
What You Will Be Doing
Key Responsibilities
Culture & Values Activation
- Drive a values-based organisational culture by actively promoting the integration and activation of core values across all levels and functions.
- This involves conceptualizing, designing, and facilitating impactful team-level culture-building and values engagement sessions, ensuring sustained behavioural alignment.
- Assess the cultural health of the organisation through comprehensive surveys, focus groups, and feedback mechanisms, developing targeted interventions to address identified gaps.
Employee Engagement & Workplace Experience
- Plan, curate, and implement workplace social activities, wellbeing programmes, and recognition initiatives to support high levels of employee engagement.
- Serve as advisor to the cross-functional Staff Recreation Committee, providing guidance on engagement initiatives, budget management and alignment with broader organisational culture.
Internal Communications
- Curate, manage and optimise content on the internal communications platform to ensure relevance, clarity and consistency of corporate messaging.
- Serve as co-project lead for the internal communications platform alongside the IT co-project lead ensuring technological capabilities support communication goals.
- Perform the “super admin” role for the internal communications platform, encompassing governance, comprehensive content oversight, user management and analytics tracking to measure engagement.
Employer Branding
- Develop, refine and implement a compelling employer branding strategy that accurately reflects the organisation's culture and employee value proposition (EVP).
- Plan and produce employer branding content tailored for both external and internal channels (e.g., career site, LinkedIn) and internal employee communication platforms.
Team Leadership & Operations
- Supervise, mentor and guide a team of staff responsible for executing various employee experience, engagement and communications initiatives.
- Provide clear direction, prioritisation, and comprehensive oversight of team deliverables, ensuring high standards of execution.
- Support ongoing capability development for fostering a collaborative team environment and ensuring effective team performance performance through regular feedback and coaching.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or a related strategic discipline.
- 8–10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources is required, with a significant portion (at least 5 years) dedicated to employee experience, culture transformation, organizational development, or internal communications, preferably within a complex university, public sector, or large corporate environment.
- Possess a good understanding of modern employee experience frameworks, engagement methodologies, and culture change management.
- Proven track record of successfully leading teams, managing budgets, and driving strategic initiatives from conception to execution.
- Collaborative, highly proactive, adaptable, and solutions-focused with a strong commitment to service excellence. Possess a continuous improvement focus, dedicated to fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills are required, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences, including senior leadership.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills are crucial, with the demonstrated ability to build strategic partnerships and work effectively with hiring managers and executives at all levels.
- Highly comfortable working with engagement platforms, internal communication tools, and being proficient in the Microsoft Office suite.
