About The Job

The Institute for Adult Learning (IAL), an autonomous institute of the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), is at the forefront of building capabilities and offering continuing professional development for an effective, innovative and responsive Training and Adult Education (TAE) sector.

 

The Learning and Professional Development Division seeks a motivated and forward-looking Team Lead, Learning Systems to lead the strategic development, implementation and adoption of learning technologies, microlearning initiatives and digital learning innovations.

 

In this role, you will lead the Learning Systems team in strengthening IAL’s technology-enabled learning ecosystem, supporting Training and Adult Education (TAE) professional capability development through effective use of learning platforms, data, emerging technologies and innovative learning solutions.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Lead the planning, implementation, governance and continuous improvement of learning systems, digital platforms and related applications.
  • Set priorities for learning systems initiatives by balancing organisational needs, user requirements, technical capabilities, resource considerations and strategic impact.
    Oversee system enhancement and implementation projects to ensure timely delivery, quality outcomes and alignment with organisational requirements.
  • Evaluate and drive the appropriate adoption of emerging learning technologies, including AI and Generative AI, to enhance learner experience, operational efficiency and professional development outcomes.
  • Provide strategic direction for microlearning initiatives, including quality standards, development priorities, implementation approaches and effectiveness reviews.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen technology-enabled learning and digital learning adoption across relevant programmes and initiatives.
  • Guide the use of learning analytics and system data to generate insights on learner engagement, platform performance and programme effectiveness.
  • Support evidence-based decision-making through the effective use of data, dashboards, reports and user feedback.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement, communication and change management efforts to support successful adoption of learning technologies and digital solutions.
  • Work with internal stakeholders, vendors and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, improve processes and enhance user experience.
  • Oversee vendor coordination and service delivery for relevant learning systems and digital platforms.
  • Oversee the team’s workplan, budget and capability development.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to team members.
  • Contribute to broader divisional and organisational initiatives where required.

Job Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Educational Technology, Information Systems, Education, Adult Learning or a related discipline.
  • ACLP, DDDLP or equivalent adult learning qualification would be an advantage.
  • At least 2 years of experience leading or supervising a team.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in learning systems, learning technologies, LMS administration, digital learning, educational technology, learning analytics or technology-enabled learning initiatives.
  • Experience leading technology implementation, enhancement or transformation projects would be advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of learning management systems, digital learning platforms, blended and online learning approaches, learning analytics, microlearning and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled learning solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to lead teams effectively and work collaboratively across internal and external stakeholders.

 

The successful appointee will be based in IAL Campus located at Lifelong Learning Institute next to Paya Lebar MRT station.
