About The Job
The Institute for Adult Learning (IAL), an autonomous institute of the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), is at the forefront of building capabilities and offering continuing professional development for an effective, innovative and responsive Training and Adult Education (TAE) sector.
The position will report to the Assistant Director, Workplace Innovation, Centre for Workplace and Learning Innovation. In this position, the appointee will strategise, lead, develop and implement IAL’s workplace learning consultancy effort to contribute to quality solutioning of enterprises’ people-business and people-performance challenges. He/she will ensure intervention/ initiative relevance and efficacy to meet set objectives and contribute to efforts to raise the quality and standards of workplace learning and workforce transformation in Singapore.
What You Will Be Doing
- Strategise implementation and evaluation of initiatives and collaborative approaches to better embed workplace learning related innovation activities and improvement cycles.
- Engage with a diverse range of sector stakeholders, including enterprises, learning consultants, Training Providers, L&D practitioners, Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) and educational technologists, to strengthen the ecosystem's capacity for workplace learning.
- Conceptualise and implement a scalable strategy to enable an evidence informed action plan to realise the national and IAL's workplace learning intervention objectives, that could encompass action research projects, case studies, and monitoring & measurement frameworks.
- Lead and oversee NACE@IAL projects, ensuring alignment with IAL’s broader workplace learning strategy and national workforce development goals
a. Design, develop and implement an effective grant management process to support the delivery of the workplace learning projects.
b. Develop and implement an evaluation and review framework on grant design, application processing and approval of workplace learning proposals.
c. Provide consultancy and advisory services to critical approved projects and contribute to problem-solving of successful applicants' on issues encountered during project implementation.
d. Manage a review and improvement process to ascertain the continued relevance of the centre's workplace learning initiatives, as well as their contribution and impact on the workplace learning on enterprises. - Develop annual workplans and corresponding key performance indicators (KPIs) that contribute to the centre’s strategic objectives and aligned to the broader IAL’s direction.
- Lead and manage workplace learning innovation pilots, scaling successful solutions and building practitioner capability while directing internal and adjunct teams to deliver impactful workplace interventions and outcomes.
- Any other duties assigned, including cross-divisional projects.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of experience in adult/workplace learning, education technology, programme development, project management, or innovation and consultancy initiatives.
- Strong strategic, analytical, systems-thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations.
- Proven ability to drive organisational objectives through performance management, partnerships, and workplace learning innovation initiatives.
- Demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement, partnership building, and people management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, networking, and presentation skills.
- Adaptable, resilient, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
The successful appointee will be based in IAL Campus located at Lifelong Learning Institute next to Paya Lebar MRT station.
