About the Job
The Manager (Security Management), Campus Planning & Development is responsible for campus-wide security planning and implementation, ensuring regulatory compliance, operational readiness, and integration of security systems for the development of SUSS’s new campus.
What You Will Be Doing
- Assist the Associate Director to lead and implement security strategies to safeguard future campus operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the university’s risk management objectives.
- Developing a campus-wide security master plan aligned with the university’s risk profile and operational needs.
- Define security design principles and ensure integration across architectural, engineering, and space planning design during all design and construction stages.
- Coordinate the development of security systems, response infrastructure, and emergency management plans across co-located campuses, working closely with relevant consultants, specialists, and operational stakeholders.
- Support engagements with authorities and agencies to ensure timely submissions, and compliance with security, safety, and fire regulations.
- Review, evaluate, and advise on security-related design proposals, specifications, drawings and material proposals from consultants and contractors to meet the project objectives and requirements, and to achieve the required quality and regulatory compliances within the budget.
- Attend consultant and site meetings with the Project Team and to carry out inspections on site to ensure that the relevant works carried out by the builder to meet the desired quality/workmanship and are completed on time and within budget.
- Support planning and execution of incident response procedures, tabletop exercises, emergency drills, and coordination with external first responders to ensure operational preparedness for campus opening.
- Provide technical support to stakeholders in the resolution of technical issues when needed.
- Undertake any other tasks or responsibilities as required in the course of work.
Job Requirements
- A recognised Degree in Security Management, Facilities Management, Built Environment, or relevant Degree from a recognised University.
- At least 10 years of relevant working experience in physical security operations, infrastructure security, or security management for large, complex, or multi-building facilities.
- Experience in incident response, emergency drills, and coordination with external responders.
- Experience in design, implementation, or commissioning of security systems (CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, visitor management, security operations centres).
- Proven guard force management and vendor oversight.
- Experience in SOP and emergency plans writing.
- Professional certifications (e.g., ASIS International), or relevant qualifications in security planning, risk assessment, or business continuity would be an added advantage.
- Working experience and knowledge of Government policies, functions and requirements of Key Agencies and the regulatory framework for development projects.
- Strong interpersonal skills, positive working attitude and good team player.
- Good writing, communication and presentation skills.
- Detail-oriented and capable of macro analysis with good acumen in management and resolution of technical issues and challenges.
- Conversant in various applications such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Project.
