About The Job
Project management and development of the new SUSS flagship campus to achieve the University’s long term institutional goals. This role ensures the new campus meets the University’s goals and strengthens SUSS’s identity as a leading autonomous university in Singapore through smart and sustainable design.
What You Will Be Doing
Key Responsibilities:
Sustainability Management
- Responsible for the sustainability and M&E engineering works, including conducting feasibility studies, budget planning, seeking funding approval from the government agency, project schedule planning, prepare and manage tender procurement processes for the development.
- Propose conceptual design, and evaluate and value-add to the sustainability solutions proposed by the consultants to meet the project objectives, requirements, timeline and budget.
Smart Technologies Management
- Responsible for the smart technology solutions and integrated security systems, including conducting feasibility studies, budget planning, seeking funding approval from the government agency, project schedule planning, prepare and manage tender procurement processes for the development.
- Propose conceptual design, and evaluate and value-add to the smart technology solutions and integrated security system proposed by the consultants to meet the project objectives, requirements, timeline and budget.
Technical Management
- Reviewing M&E consultant design proposals, tender specifications and drawings to ensure all systems design are complying with code requirements, optimised for high performance functionality and value for money. Drive the integration of sustainability and smart technologies to ensure the campus achieves the BCA Green Mark Platinum SLE award, showing SUSS’s leadership in sustainability. Manage the setup of an Intelligent Building Management System to ensure seamless functionality across all buildings, enhance productivity and operation energy efficiency.
- Provide technical advice and engineering solutions to management and other stakeholders when construction issues arise. Represent SUSS in meetings or discussions regarding green buildings and campus development. Guide and oversee junior team members by sharing knowledge on smart building systems, M&E planning, and the tender process.
Project Management
- Manage external/outsourced resources (multi-disciplinary consultants and site supervisory staff) to execute and complete the projects on time. Attend site progress meetings and monitor the progress to ensure the project is on track and within budget. Carry out inspections on site to ensure that the sustainability, smart building solutions, integrated security system, and M&E works meet the desired quality and workmanship.
- Technical oversight & liaison. Act as the representative for SUSS with government agencies like BCA, SCDF, and PUB. Lead the consultants to ensure the campus design meets both government regulations and SUSS’s needs.

- Undertake any other tasks or responsibilities as required by Management in the course of work.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or relevant Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
- At least 15 years of relevant working experience in Sustainability and/or Smart Technologies Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and other relevant experiences, preferably in public/developer organisations or consulting firms.
- Relevant experience in the planning, design and implementation of sustainability and smart building solutions and engineering works for large-scale development projects.
- Certified as Green Mark Accredited Professional with experience in attaining Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Green Mark Platinum and/or Super Low Energy certification for development projects is an advantage.
- Working experience and knowledge of Government policies, functions, and requirements of key Agencies and the regulatory framework for development projects is an advantage.
- Strong in people management, good writing, communication and presentation skills. Technically competent in various software programs such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
