What You Will Be Doing
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Associate Director in campus space planning and architectural aspects of the campus development, including conducting feasibility studies, design review, regulatory compliance and quality assurance.
- Review, evaluate and advise on the designs, specifications, drawings and material proposals from consultants and contractors to meet the project objectives and requirements, and to achieve the required quality and regulatory compliances within the budget.
- Develop the Design for Safety (DfS) requirements, ie. safety design aspects and good practices which should be incorporated into the architectural design of the new campus. These requirements shall be conveyed to the consultants and contractors, and documented by the DfSP to ensure compliance and implementation in the construction works.
- Ensure that DfS review process is properly implemented by the DfSP throughout every phase of the development project in accordance with the Workplace Safety and Health (Design for Safety) Regulations. Work closely with the Project Team and all relevant stakeholders to ascertain that meetings/workshops are conducted timely in relation to the GUIDE process.
- Review and ensure that the design risk assessments by the designers/stakeholders and the DfS checklists and risk registers documented by the DfSP are properly maintained and handed over to the maintenance team.
- Attend consultant, site and safety meetings with the Project Team and conduct site/audit inspections to ensure construction safety is maintained and compliant in accordance with the Workplace Health & Safety (WSH) regulations.
- Undertake any other tasks or responsibilities as required in the course of work.
Job Requirements
- A recognised Degree in Architecture/Built Environment or relevant Degree from a recognised University with at least 8 years of relevant working experience in the building/construction industry as Project Manager preferably in public/developer organisations or consulting firms.
- Good safety mindset and conversant with local Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) regulations, WSH Act and its subsidiary legislations, and practices.
- Relevant experience in the planning, design and implementation of large-scale development projects, with keen interest in campus design and planning.
- Certified Design for Safety Professional is an added advantage.
- Working experience and knowledge of Government policies, functions and requirements of Key Agencies and the regulatory framework for development projects.
- Strong interpersonal skills, positive working attitude and good team player.
- Good writing, communication and presentation skills.
- Detail-oriented and capable of macro analysis with good acumen in management and resolution of technical issues and challenges.
- Conversant in various applications such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Project.
