About The Job

The Manager / Senior Manager (Electrical), Campus Development reports to the Senior Manager (Sustainability and Smart Technology), Campus Development and is responsible for the electrical, extra low voltage, security, and audio-visual engineering works related to the development of the new flagship campus. The scope of work includes managing projects involving system efficiency optimisation, renewable energy generation/storage and smart energy management solutions to achieve Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy, Zero Energy and/or Positive Energy requirements, and consolidating and centralising the monitoring and management of SUSS’s operations to the new flagship campus.

What Will You Be Doing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for electrical, extra low voltage, security, and audio-visual engineering works, including assisting in the sustainability and smart building solutions for the building developments, infrastructure, addition and alteration works which will encompass conducting feasibility studies, budgeting, funding approval, design, project programming, procurement, regulatory compliance, design review and quality assurance.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and gather their requirements and needs for incorporation into the project brief.
  • Manage, evaluate and advise on appropriate electrical, extra low voltage, security, and audio-visual engineering works proposed by consultants to meet the project objectives, requirements, budget, specifications and code requirements.
  • Review, challenge and value-add to the designs/specifications/drawings submitted by consultants and contractors to achieve quality, compliance and value for money.
  • Attend consultant and site meetings with the Project Team and carry out inspections on site to ensure that the electrical, extra low voltage, security, and audio-visual engineering works carried out by the contractors meet the desired quality/workmanship, specifications, code requirements and the projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Manage external/outsourced resources (consultants and site supervisory staff) to execute the projects.
  • Provide technical support to stakeholders in the resolution of technical issues when needed.
  • Undertake any other tasks or responsibilities as required in the course of work.

Job Requirements

  • A recognised Degree in Electrical Engineering and/or a relevant Degree from a recognised University with at least 10 years of relevant working experience as an Electrical Engineer or Project Manager, preferably in public/developer organisations or consulting firms.
  • Working experience in the planning, design and implementation of Photovoltaic, Electric Vehicle Charging systems, and/or sustainability and smart building solutions is an added advantage.
  • Relevant experience in the planning, design and implementation of electrical, extra low voltage, security, and audio-visual engineering works for large-scale development projects.
  • Working experience and knowledge of Government policies, functions and requirements of Key Agencies and the regulatory framework for development projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, positive working attitude and good team player.
  • Good writing, communication and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented and yet capable of macro analysis with good acumen in management and resolution of technical issues and challenges.
  • Conversant in various applications such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
