About Role
The Student Information Systems (SIS) Program Director is a senior leadership role responsible for the successful planning, execution, and completion of projects under the SIS Program. This includes but is not limited to the implementation of purpose-built solutions (e.g. Core SIS, Timetable Scheduling, Curriculum Management), code refactoring or implementation of custom-built solutions (e.g. Student Admission, Course Registration, Exam Administration), and integration of all these solutions to form a Composable SIS. The Program Director will lead a cross-functional team, manage all aspects of the project lifecycle, ensure alignment with SUSS’s strategic goals, and deliver a high-quality, efficient, and user-friendly Composable SIS that supports the academic and administrative processes of the University.
What You Will Be Doing
Key Responsibilities:
- Program And Project Leadership
Provide directive and guidance to project managers, manage key stakeholders’ expectation (especially at Project Steering Committee meeting) in order to maximize project success (i.e. ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, fulfil the objectives, meet the quality standard, and stakeholders are satisfied). - Program And Project Management
Oversee the management and administration of the program (review and approve project change requests, handle escalated project issues, budgeting, procurement, recruitment, audit, vendor management, etc.) in order to ensure compliance and smooth project operation. - Solution Sourcing and Planning
Strategize, source, recommend and plan Student Information Systems solutions and roadmap, taking into consideration all initiatives under the composable Student Information Systems architecture in order to achieve streamlined and optimized student administrative processes across the University. - Staff And Team Development
Coach and develop project managers / project team members in order to strengthen their competencies and improve the quality of project roll-out.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
- Certification in PMP or CITPM will be an added advantage.
- At least 15 years of working experience with minimum 2 years in team management and 5 years in project management.
- Familiar with most aspects of student lifecycle processes – admission, enrolment, internship, student exchange, student financials, CCA, exam processing, graduation, alumni engagement, lifelong learning, etc.
- Experience with Student Information System (e.g. Ellucian Banner, PeopleSoft Campus Solutions or equivalent) implementation, maintenance and support.
- Good grasp of IT technologies, methodologies, architectures, and best practices.
- Good appreciation of how to apply emerging technologies such as RPA, Digital Credentials, Generative AI in business use cases.
- Demonstrated ability to envision the big picture, develop innovative concepts, and translate strategic ideas into actionable plans.
- Proven capability to manage multiple departmental demands, oversee concurrent projects.
- Appreciation of cybersecurity best practices.
