About The Role

Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) administers full-time and part-time undergraduate degree and graduate programmes.

SUSS Student Life (under Student SUcceSS Centre) aims to create an enabling culture that empowers students to maximize their personal potential. This is realized by supporting students to strengthen their well-being, and helping students develop their unique potential to contribute actively to SUSS and the wider community. SUSS Student Life also organises and implements student leadership, onboarding, inclusion and well-being programmes for the personal and professional development of students.

The successful candidate will be a key member of the Special Education Needs (SEN) project team that will review various systems, processes and programmes that support Special Needs students. The candidate will also propose and implement new initiatives and partnerships to enhance support for Special Needs students.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Manage budget of project which aims to enhance capacity of SUSS to provide holistic support to special needs students
  • Curate milestone reports to update stakeholders on project progress and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Implement initiatives to enhance capacity SUSS to provide holistic support to special needs students.
  • Support the organising of an Inclusion Conference.
  • Create learning communities where staff and learners exchange ideas and best practices.
  • Design and develop programme impact indicators.
  • Review and evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate programmes and initiatives.
  • Support various functions and events across Student Success Centre offices.
  • Attend professional training and development relevant to the role.
  • Assist with additional tasks and participate in university-wide activities as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements

We are looking for individuals who possess good project management skills, have a strong ability to lead the development and implementation of student life programmes, are able to forge strong partnerships and are committed to the preparation and development of students. Candidates should be intellectually nimble; have an eye for detail as well as collaborative possibilities; and the ability to tackle challenging situations with finesse and determination.

  • Degree holder with at least 5 years of professional experience. Experience in special needs areas will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in project management and student/people development.
  • Team player, with strong communication (writing & verbal), interpersonal, analytical and presentation skills.
  • Able to work independently with a strong eye for detail.
  • Strong coordination, administrative and organisational skills.
  • Intellectually inquisitive; with a good awareness of current and global affairs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Able to travel as required.
