Research Fellow (1-year contract)

Short Description

The Centre for Applied Research (CFAR) at Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) is focused primarily on applied work with industry relevance. CFAR also undertakes collaborative research with industry partners and public institutions on various issues of direct interest to the business community and to the society at large.​

The Centre is seeking a Research Fellow (Data Unit). The successful candidate will oversee and coordinate multiple research projects.

Job Description

  • Lead a team of research assistants and associates.
  • Oversee the project management and coordination of fieldwork for data collection.
  • Conduct face-to-face interviews and/or facilitating Focus Group Discussions
  • Design data collection instruments such as online survey.
  • Data processing and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Prepare comprehensive research reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand and support their research needs.
  • Present research findings and outcomes to the stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget.

Job Requirements

  • Master/ PHD in a relevant field
  • Good grasp of statistics and ability to apply statistical concepts to the Social Science
  • Good knowledge of qualitative and or quantitative research method capabilities for analysis in projects
  • Proficient in the use of statistical software such as SPSS, Stata or programming language eg. R and Python
  • Independent, problem solver and self-motivated
  • Able to work under pressure, multi-task, is organised and meticulous
  • Flexibility to work on weekends (when required)
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
