Research Associate (ICPR)
About The Job
We are looking for a highly organised, proactive, and analytically minded Research Associate to support the academic and scientific programme of ICPR7. You will work directly with the Conference Chair, Co-organiser, Local Scientific Committee, and international professional bodies such as the International Community of Practice Research and International Association of Schools of Social Work to deliver an outstanding, inclusive, and evidence-informed programme.
What You Will Be Doing
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end abstract submission and review process
- Coordinate double-blind peer review, score analysis and quality assurance
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of submission abstract data and programme diversity metrics to inform decision-making and reporting
- Liaise with local and international speakers to curate their dedicated sessions
- Support the design and scheduling of parallel plenaries, seminars, workshops, PechaKucha, and digital posters
- Prepare the conference programme book, pre- and post-conference proceedings
- Assist with pre-conference webinar series and speaker coordination
- Provide research and analytical support for special journal issues
- Provide hospitality services for the ICPR Board
- Document meetings and maintain accurate records of decisions made
- Prepare a comprehensive post-conference summary report on outcomes, participant feedback, and overall conference experience
- Perform other duties related to ICPR7 as assigned by the Conference Chair and Co-organiser
Job Requirements
- A recognised degree or diploma, preferably in social sciences, psychology, or related disciplines.
- At least 5 years of relevant working experience, particularly in research support.
- Excellent coordination, administrative, and organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask, work independently, and adapt to dynamic conference needs.
- Good writing, communication, and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills (experience with Excel, SPSS, NVivo, or similar tools highly desirable)
- Proven ability to interpret, summarise, and visualise data for decision-making
- Cultural sensitivity and experience working in international, virtual teams
