Short Description
This is an administrative position for a Counselling Practicum Coordinator in the S R Nathan School of Human Development (NSHD), to support the undergraduate and postgraduate Counselling degree programmes in SUSS.
Job Description
The main purpose of the job is to ensure that the students are able to start and end their practicum as scheduled and that all practicum issues that might affect the smooth flow of the practicum are addressed effectively and efficiently. He/ She will work closely with the Heads of programme for Bachelor of Counselling (BCOU) and Master of Counselling (MCOU) as well as to work closely with key stakeholders (e.g., practicum supervisors, field liaison officers [FLOs], and other colleagues in SUSS etc.) to oversee the counselling programmes’ practicum administration and organise programme-based and school-related events.
- Match students with the sites and supervisors; and match students with Field Liaison Officers (FLOs)
- Provide support and sustain a pool of onsite Clinical Supervisors; and for sites without supervisors, match students with SUSS’ Clinical Supervisors.
- Provide support for students, Clinical Supervisors (CSs) and FLOs before, during and after each practicum; and track the students' progress and completion.
- For new CSs, to facilitate the application process; and ensure deployment of all CSs assigned to students.
- Perform administrative duties, such as managing the registration of students for practicum; arranging and conducting briefing sessions for students and supervisors; visiting practicum sites; and establishing and maintaining proper records for the entire practicum process.
- Analyse the feedback and evaluation of CSs, FLOs and students
- Establish and maintain sustainable work processes for continual improvement.
- Organise students and alumni clinical related activities (e.g., annual webinars, quarterly clinical group meetings)
- Perform ad-hoc duties and tasks as assigned by the S R Nathan School of Human Development (e.g., Orientation, Open House; organising training workshops for students on placement)
Job Requirements
- Degree in any discipline with at least 5 years’ relevant working experience
- Mature, meticulous and possess high level of discretion and integrity
- Effective interpersonal skills with excellent command of written and spoken English
- Resourceful team player who is able to work independently and display initiative
- Excellent team-player
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Intermediate or Advanced Excel skills would help)
- Technologically competent
