About The Job
The Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) is a key member of the HR team, working closely with business leaders and departments to provide HR support across various functions. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their career in HR within a dynamic university environment. You will partner with stakeholders to deliver HR solutions, support talent management, and contribute to building a positive workplace culture.
What You Will Be Doing
HR Advisory & Support
- Partner with business leaders, primarily the academic leadership to provide professional HR advisories, ensuring the seamless implementation of HR practices and initiatives for academic and non-academic staff.
- Partner the academic leaders throughout the annual performance review process and offer insights during moderation discussions.
- Assist with manpower planning and budgeting in alignment with the University’s strategic goals.
Employee Lifecycle Management
Manage the entire employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance reviews, employee relations, and exit management. Provide guidance to enhance staff engagement and improve the overall university culture.
Talent Development & Performance Management
Partner with academic leaders and HR Centres of Excellence (COE) teams to facilitate talent management and succession planning initiatives. Coaching managers through performance management processes and conversations. Support the annual performance review cycle and provide insights during moderation discussions.
HR Process Improvement
Proactively identify gaps in HR processes and work towards continuous improvement. Ensure HR practices align with local regulations, including the implementation of policies in compliance with the Employment Act.
HR Operations
Work closely with the HR shared service and Centres of Excellence (COE) teams to manage HR processes, enforce policies, and ensure compliance with employment laws.
HR Project Implementation
Contribute to the execution of HR projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing employee experience, performance, and organizational effectiveness.
Other Duties: Perform any other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant HRBP experience, ideally in an academic or higher education environment.
- Familiarity with faculty-related matters, including recruitment and promotion processes is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of HR best practices, including talent management, employee engagement, and performance management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and resilient with a problem-solving mindset and a strong ability to manage complex tasks independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills preferred.
