Short Description

TLC promotes excellence in teaching and learning through the design and implementation of innovative pedagogies; facilitation of faculty development and training; scholarship of teaching and learning; and provides academic support for students whilst developing lifelong learning attributes in our graduates.

TLC is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor whose interests and expertise align with the functions of the centre. This position will be critical to the conceptualisation, development, implementation and review of appropriate fit-for-purpose faculty development approaches and resources in the university. This position will also engage with various stakeholders, and contribute to the research strengths of TLC and faculty development in higher education through publications and securing research grants. 

Job Description

To be considered for this position, you will have:

•            A doctoral qualification and experience in a relevant field

•            Experience related to evidence-based and contemporaneous faculty development in teaching and learning within higher education

•            Experience relevant to evaluating and assuring teaching quality in higher education

•            An established academic teaching profile

•            Proven experience in working collaboratively with faculty and industry

•            An established track record in quality research and outputs in the field of education (specialisation in higher education or education technology will be an advantage)  

•            Demonstrable accomplishments in service at a level commensurate with Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor

•            A collegial approach to work

Job Requirements

• Ph.D. degree holder in a relevant discipline from a reputable university. Ph.D. candidates nearing completion will also be considered.
• Candidates with teaching and/or working experience in the relevant area will have an added advantage.
• Candidates with online teaching experience as well as those who have managed online courses or programmes will also have an added advantage during the selection process.
