Senior Manager

Teaching & Learning Centre

The Teaching & Learning Centre (TLC) enables quality in teaching and learning through research, support and implementation of educational initiatives and innovative pedagogies. It conducts research in higher ed and adult learning, and supports the learning needs of SUSS's students in areas of academic competency, English proficiency and academic writing. The Centre also provides professional development to faculty towards excellence in teaching. To foster a vibrant teaching & learning community, regular professional sharing, social and appreciation events are also organised.

Job Description

As part of the TLC team, the successful candidate is expected to support the Centre’s activities in the following areas:


Data Analysis


•Process large-scale data sets
•Develop and execute processes from data extraction, interpretation to visualisation and reporting
•Develop data mining architectures and data analysis methodologies
•Use multiple sources for data mining to support decision making by creating meaningful information
•Support the development and maintenance of quality dashboards

Research Admin


•Liaison for research grants and funding bodies, including timely submissions and reporting of progress, budgetary and claims matters, including managing post-grant submissions and queries
•Support the implementation of and compliance to research grant processes, including performing administrative, budgetary and compliance checks
•Maintain an overview of research projects undertaken by the Centre/University, including project deadlines
•Monitor allocated budget and funds for research projects managed by the Centre
•Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

 

•Demonstrable relevant work experience in data mining and research administration
•Strong quantitative analytical skills and associated software
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills
•Strong analytical and writing skills
•Proficient in MS Office and willingness to learn new IT applications when required
•Ability to manage multiple projects, and work within tight timelines
•A good team player, able to work independently and take initiative
•Meticulous, organized and resourceful
