Senior Communications Manager (Brand)

The Senior Communications Manger will manage the development and successful implementation of the new SUSS Brand Strategy and all strategic  brand activation campaigns at the university and faculty level. Working closely alongside the Director of Communications & Marketing (COMM) to develop and manage the SUSS brand architecture, and ensure the SUSS brand reputation and various external touchpoints (i.e. logo, sub brands, customer service, employee value proposition, advertising, stationery, quality of products & services), this role enhances our brand promise and tell a compelling narrative.   
 

The incumbent will ensure that all key messages and strategies work together in support of the SUSS Brand. It aligns all efforts with  public relations and digital marketing efforts to ensure consistency and maximum impact. The role will also collaborate closely with the Director of Communications & Marketing (COMM) in organizational design strategies such as Event Marketing/Design Centre of Excellence, and CSR initiatives

Job Description

 

1.    Participate as a core team member for the Brand Stategy project including working closely with 3rd party vendors/agencies.
2.    Implement corporate, integrated marcom campaigns in collaboration with PR and digital teams and key internal stakeholders. The campaigns will include advertising, collaterals, direct marketing, sponsorships, event marketing, digital media, media relations and strategic CSR.  Where required, own selected PR campaigns and outreach.
3.    Facilitate the entire communciations planning process in close partnership with Communications & Marketing and across various faculties and units.  
4.    Champion the need for integrated messages across the university in support of our brand building initiatives
5.    Manage the bi-annual Brand tracking project, and all trademark related projects.  
6.    Develop new  thought leadership initiatives that will enhance our brand reputation.  
7.    Support university wide events including key executives in their external speaking engagements including speech writing, editorial support and government protocol.
8.    Act as a content contributor for all social and digital platforms including corporate website, employee portal and social channels

 

Job Requirements

 

1.    Bachelor’s Degree or above in Communications, Journalism, Business, Marketing or equivalent field of study
2.    10 – 12 years of marketing communications of experience in B2B or B2C environment.  Solid foundational skills in core communication principles including ability to develop creative/project briefs, setting goals and metrics for digital campaigns.
3.    Excellent written and oral communication skills as role is required to work with partners in the Chinese market.
4.    Experienced in planning and implementing integrated campaigns with strong creative judgement and astute budget management
5.    Potential to lead project teams and a people oriented leader who can thrive in ambiguity and yet bring out the best in team members.  A role model of teamwork with high influencing skills.  
6.    Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and executives (director and president level), with strategic mindset and problem solving skills including conflict management skills.
7.    Demonstrated experience in digital marketing and new automation tools an advantage.
8.    An agile and keen learner, with a passion to advance career in strategic communications in Education sector.
