About the Job
The Procurement Senior Manager/Manager, reporting directly to the Assistant Director, is responsible for managing the university's procurement activities. This role focuses on ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and compliant procurement of goods and services, leading a high-performing team, and driving the successful implementation and adoption of the S2P system to modernize the university's procurement operations.
What You Will Be Doing
Key Responsibilities:
S2P System Implementation & Management
- Lead the end-to-end implementation of the S2P system, (Coupa), ensuring seamless integration with existing financial systems (SAP S4/HANA).
- Develop and execute a digital adoption strategy via effective communication with the delivery of training sessions for internal staff and external suppliers.
- Monitor system performance and data integrity for troubleshooting, continuous process improvement, and future module rollouts.
- Assist to develop the reporting dashboards within the S2P system to provide real-time visibility into spend, compliance, and supplier performance.
Strategic Procurement Management
- Utilize advanced data analytics to assess procurement patterns and identify areas for cost reduction, creation of strategic sourcing activities and process optimization.
- Identify potential risks in the supply chain and operational risks; and develop mitigation strategies.
- Lead initiatives in sustainable procurement, advocating for environmentally responsible and socially ethical procurement practices.
- Drive innovation in procurement processes and approaches, leveraging new technologies and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Leads and guides cross-functional teams in strategic sourcing projects from needs assessment to supplier selection and contract finalisation.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Develop and conduct procurement training programme for all staff to increase awareness of procurement policies and procedures.
- Act as the primary liaison for all audits and work with Asst Director to address any identified gaps and implement necessary controls.
- Develop and execute change management plans for stakeholders to support new initiatives – e.g.: sustainable procurement policies, implementation of new systems etc.
General
- Perform any additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Degree holder with at least 10 years of relevant working experiences in procurement function and at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and regulations in the public sector (preferable)
- Hands-on experience with Coupa and SAP S4/ HANA (preferable)
- Possess effective oral, written communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and build effective rapport with stakeholders across corporate and academic functions within the University.
- Resourceful and motivated team player who takes initiative with a strong commitment to mentoring and developing subordinates.
- Display good business etiquette and work ethics skills.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
