About The Job

We are seeking a capable and self-driven Research Officer to support and lead components of a key research project focused on ageing, gerontology, and community innovations. This position requires prior experience in academic or applied research, along with project coordination and stakeholder engagement capabilities.

What You Will Be Doing

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support research design, ethics submissions, data collection tools, and fieldwork logistics.
  • Conduct qualitative and/or quantitative data collection and analysis (e.g. interviews, surveys, focus groups).
  • Synthesise findings into academic reports, publications, toolkits, and stakeholder presentations.
  • Monitor project deliverables, track progress against timelines and budget, and ensure research quality.
  • Collaborate with academic team members, industry partners, and community organisations.
  • Organise and support workshops, training sessions, and public engagement activities.
  • Provide guidance to junior staff or interns involved in the project.
  • Maintain thorough research documentation and ensure compliance with data protection and ethics standards.
  • Perform other duties relevant to the project as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent research experience) in gerontology, public health, social sciences, psychology, or related disciplines.
  • At least 3–5 years of experience in managing or supporting research projects, particularly in healthcare, ageing, or community development.
  • Solid foundation in qualitative and/or quantitative research methods and analysis tools (e.g. NVivo, SPSS, Excel, or R).
  • Have experience conduct ethnographic study
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage complex tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing reports, publications, or grant submissions.
  • High level of initiative, professionalism, and adaptability in working with diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with IRB procedures and applied research ethics is preferred.
  • Passion for advancing research in ageing, innovation, and social impact.
