About The Job
The Student SUcceSS Centre (SSC) invites dynamic and collaborative individuals to join our Career Development Office in preparing students to become future-ready graduates who are able to make purposeful and responsible career decisions. In this faculty-track appointment, you will provide academic leadership in the design, development and continuous enhancement of Career Development's curricula, programmes and student development initiatives that strengthen students' professional readiness, employability and lifelong career development. You will work closely with academic schools, employers and internal stakeholders to ensure that Career Development's programmes remain relevant to evolving workforce needs and aligned with institutional priorities. Where relevant, you will contribute to scholarship of practice, curriculum innovation and applied initiatives that enhance student learning and graduate employability.
What You Will Be Doing
- Design, develop, and review curricula, learning outcomes, assessment strategies, teaching resources, and programme frameworks that support students' career development, professional readiness, and lifelong learning.
- Collaborate with academic schools, employers, and internal stakeholders to ensure Career Development programmes remain relevant to evolving workforce and industry needs.
- Develop evidence-informed frameworks, playbooks, and resources that strengthen Career Development practices, coaching approaches, and student development across the University.
- Evaluate programme effectiveness through data analysis, stakeholder feedback, and outcome measures, and recommend continuous improvements.
- Contribute to scholarship of practice, applied research, and thought leadership in career development, graduate employability, professional readiness, and workforce development.
- Represent Career Development on University committees and cross-functional initiatives relating to student development and graduate employability.
- Mentor and guide students through programmes and initiatives that strengthen their professional and career development.
- Undertake administrative and operational responsibilities to support the successful planning and delivery of Career Development initiatives.
- Lead the planning, design, implementation, governance, and continuous enhancement of Career Development academic programmes, curriculum initiatives, and student development frameworks that strengthen students' professional readiness and employability.
Job Requirements
We are looking for experienced professionals with a strong background in higher education, curriculum and programme development, together with a passion for preparing students to become future-ready and professionally competent graduates.
- A good university degree, preferably with postgraduate qualifications and/or professional certifications.
- At least 8–10 years of relevant experience in higher education, curriculum development, learning design, career development, talent development, or related fields.
- Professional certification(s) in instructional design, curriculum development, coaching, facilitation, or related disciplines would be an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in designing, leading and evaluating curricula, academic programmes or student development initiatives.
- Strong understanding of graduate employability, workforce trends, and career development within higher education.
- Proven ability to build and manage relationships with stakeholders across academia, industry and government.
- Interest in, or experience contributing to, scholarship of practice, and applied research.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Passion for developing students, with the ability to inspire, coach and mentor learners from diverse backgrounds.
- Strategic thinking, with the ability to translate institutional objectives into impactful programmes and partnerships.
- Strong planning, organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver quality outcomes.
- Adaptability, collaboration, in a dynamic and evolving environment.
- Willingness and ability to undertake overseas travel as required to support partnership development, programme delivery, student engagement and institutional representation.
