Your expertise in navigating complexities, mitigating risks, and delivering results will be crucial for achieving project success and organisational objectives.
You will assume the role of Technical Architect. This position is responsible for overseeing the university's entire technology stack and ensuring it remains up-to-date with the latest architectural technologies and practices. This role is essential in guaranteeing that the university’s IT systems are efficient, secure, and capable of supporting both current and future institutional requirements.
What You Will be Doing
- Manage the operational readiness of the existing iPaaS platform, ensuring that it is fully functional and meets business needs. This includes overseeing the Managed Service vendor responsible for day-to-day (L2 and L3) operation support and its’ Business Continuity Planning (BCP) activities.
- Accountable for the smooth deployment of integration solutions, working closely with the Managed Service vendor to ensure smooth deployments in UAT and production environments. Minimize any impact on project progress and ensure high uptime for production environments.
- Evaluate and develop architecture solutions for private, public, and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services, while ensuring that critical applications are optimized for high availability and disaster recovery.
- Stay up-to-date with cutting-edge technologies in hardware, software, and cybersecurity architecture. Help stakeholders implement modern, agile development practices and Anything-as-a-Service platforms.
- Guide the application team in architecting, designing, and developing microservices-based applications and other non-monolithic application architectures. Supervise the design, testing, and modification phases to ensure alignment with architecture standards.
- Design and manage shared components such as data logging and login services, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and easily integrated into various systems.
- Design and manage APIs and web services to ensure seamless integration and communication between different software applications.
- Define and set security best practices, identify security vulnerabilities in the system, and implement necessary solutions to remediate these vulnerabilities.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 15 years of experience in the IT industry, with a minimum of 8+ years in a technical architecture role, including experience in managing enterprise-grade solutions and complex integrations.
- Proven hands-on experience with MuleSoft (AnyPoint platform) for API management, integration solutions, and API-led connectivity. Solid understanding of MuleSoft architecture, deployment, and lifecycle management.
- In-depth experience in designing API-based architectures, including integration, security, scalability, and performance considerations. Hands-on experience with API management platforms such as MuleSoft AnyPoint is preferred.
- Deep understanding of various enterprise application platforms, technologies, and industry standards, including iPaaS solutions, cloud/PaaS, microservices, and container technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Strong experience in vendor management, including negotiating contracts, managing service providers, and overseeing development resource contracts. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with Managed Service vendors, API vendors, and other third-party service providers. Strong track record in ensuring the alignment of vendor performance with business and technical objectives.
- Proven experience in managing cross-departmental projects with budgets exceeding $200K. Demonstrated success in leading large-scale projects, driving alignment across teams, and managing project timelines, resources, and budgets.
