About The Job
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Technical Support Officer to support our laboratory operations. The ideal candidate will ensure the seamless functioning of our labs, provide technical assistance, and maintain equipment to meet the needs of students, faculty, and associates.

What You Will Be Doing
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide prompt technical support to stakeholders, including students, faculty, and associates.
- Prepare and set up laboratory environments for classes and project activities, ensuring all necessary equipment is operational.
- Set up, maintain, troubleshoot, and ensure the proper functioning of Virtual Reality (VR) equipment for academic and project use.
- Configure, maintain, and update computer hardware and ensure systems are equipped with the latest security patches.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues across computers, servers, and virtual machines.
- Manage laboratory assets, maintain accurate inventory records, and ensure compliance with auditing standards.
- Service, maintain, and ensure the safety and functionality of laboratory equipment.
- Procure laboratory equipment and consumables efficiently, adhering to university purchasing guidelines.
Job Requirements
- Possess a Diploma in Information Technology or a related field.
- Strong organisational and analytical abilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail with excellent follow-up capabilities
- Effective time management skills and ability to resolve issues promptly
- Resourceful, independent, and capable of working collaboratively in a team.
- Proactive, customer-focused, and adept at problem-solving.
- Mature, with a high level of discretion and integrity.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Previous experience in the Higher Education industry is advantageous.
- Willing and able to work in shifts as required by the position.
