About The Job
As part of the SUSS Communications & Marketing team, you will gain hands-on experience contributing to the university’s public relations and media engagement efforts. This role offers exposure to media engagement strategy, press material development, and issues monitoring while supporting SUSS’ efforts to strengthen its visibility and reputation.

Responsibilities
Media Engagement & Relations
- Manage day-to-day media coordination, including media queries, interview requests, follow-ups and maintaining accurate communication records.
- Assist with developing, refining and updating targeted media lists, including journalist profiling and beat research.
- Support research for media story angles and pitches by scanning relevant news and gathering background insights.
- Coordinate media-related tasks for university events, including confirming attendance and assisting with on-site media arrangements such as scheduling and logistics for media interviews
Drafting & Vetting PR Materials
- Support the drafting or vetting of speeches, talking points and interview preparation materials.
- Compile background information and supporting details to help shape key narratives for PR initiatives.
PR Strategy & Campaign Support
- Assist with the execution of PR campaigns by tracking progress, organising inputs and maintaining timelines.
- Perform basic analysis of media coverage and campaign effectiveness, and support post-campaign reporting.
Administrative & Database Management
- Update and maintain SUSS’ media database to ensure accuracy of contacts, roles, beats and engagement records.
- Regularly update and maintain faculty/academic lists, including their areas of expertise, titles and media suitability.
- Organise and maintain documentation, communications logs and PR project folders.
- Support scheduling, note-taking, filing and other administrative tasks required by the PR team.
Requirements
- Undergraduate in Digital Media, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related fields.
- Strong interest in media relations, current affairs and communications strategy.
- Excellent writing skills, with keen attention to detail and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with Singapore’s media landscape is a plus.
- A proactive learner who is adaptable, detail-oriented, resourceful, and willing to experiment with fresh and creative ideas for new story angles.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Positive, team-oriented mindset with a desire to grow in the field.
