Temp Staff - Community Builder
About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Community Builder to join the SUSS Entrepreneurship team on a temporary basis. This role is designed for someone passionate about entrepreneurship and fostering dynamic, engaged communities. The Community Builder will be instrumental in strengthening and growing relationships within and outside our entrepreneurial ecosystem, promoting our events, boosting social media engagement, and supporting the growth of our programmes.
You’ll need to be comfortable with flexible work hours and arrangements, as the role may require attendance at evening and weekend events. If you're someone who enjoys networking, engaging with startups, collaborating on campaigns, and facilitating connections, this role is perfect for you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Ecosystem Engagement:
- Understand the entrepreneurial ecosystem within SUSS and the broader Singapore startup landscape.
- Engage with key stakeholders including start-ups, ecosystem enablers, VC firms, IHLs (Institutes of Higher Learning), their CCAs (Co-Curricular Activities), and the gerontology community.
- Represent SUSS Entrepreneurship at external events to increase visibility and build new partnerships.
- Event Promotion & Participation:
- Promote events through various channels such as social media, newsletters, and internal communication platforms.
- Boost social media engagement by creating and sharing content that resonates with the community and highlights key programs and initiatives.
- Work closely with the marketing team to create promotional materials for events and programs.
- Collaborate on joint marketing campaigns with relevant departments to increase community outreach and engagement.
- Attend and provide on-site support for events, including those happening on evenings or weekends.
- Community Development:
- Build strong internal and external relationships within the SUSS entrepreneurship ecosystem.
- Foster collaboration among program participants and ecosystem partners, including IHLs and gerontology stakeholders.
- Actively contribute to a supportive and inclusive entrepreneurial community.
- Reporting:
- Track and measure key community metrics, including social media engagement, and report on performance to the management team.
- Brief team members and stakeholders on what’s trending in the ecosystem and where there are opportunities for growth.
- Marketing Collaboration:
- Work with the marketing team to develop content and promotional materials that effectively communicate our mission, vision, and program offerings.
- Collaborate on joint marketing campaigns that promote events and other entrepreneurial activities within SUSS.
- Ensure all communications and promotional efforts align with the overall brand and messaging.
Qualifications:
- A passion for entrepreneurship and community building.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, be proactive, and enjoy meeting new people.
- Willingness to attend evening/weekend events as required.
- Experience with social media, marketing campaigns, and event promotion is a plus.
- Understanding of the startup ecosystem, IHLs, CCAs, and gerontology is an added advantage.
